Boston Bomber Jahar the Horrible pictures create controversy

You just have to admit a couple of things.  One, that Rolling Stone has a way of making front page news.  Two, the Rolling Stone cover makes the Boston Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, look really sexy and handsome.

But you can not fault a magazine for that airbrushed photo.  The main article says ‘People in Cambridge thought of 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev – "Jahar" to his friends – as a beautiful, tousle-haired boy with a gentle demeanour, soulful brown eyes and the kind of shy, laid-back manner that "made him that dude you could always just vibe with," one friend says.’

Now, what will the people who criticize the Rolling Stone magazine for carrying that photo, say to that friend and other people in Cambridge who thought of Dzhokhar ‘Jahar’ Tsarnaev as a good guy?  Or to his wrestling coach Peter Payack who mentored and loved ‘Jahar’ like a son?  That they nurtured or were the cause of all that evil?
:-P

Going by some emerging reactions, they might well do.  At least two Massachusetts-based convenience store chains, Rockland and Tedeschi Food Shops, and national pharmacy chains CVS and Walgreens, have decided not stock the edition, as per BBC. Also Rite Aid, Stop & Shop, the grocery chain Roche Bros as per Fox News.

The question that needs to be asked is whether this decision (not to stock Rolling Stone) itself is a sort of publicity stunt by these store chains.  A quick check reveals that Stop & Shop has no qualms about selling Pepsi Cola (Real Deal offer on 20 Jan 2013) which still contains cancer causing 4-methylimidazole, or 4-MeI (except in California) - in cases 4 to 8 times allowed by California law.

But they will baulk at selling a Magazine which has a fluffed up photo of a known terrorist bomber on cover?

Another bit of over reaction was the release of photos shot during the apprehension of Dzhokhar ‘Jahar’ Tsarnaev on 19 April by the police photographer Sgt. Sean Murphy to Boston Magazine.  The purpose of the unauthorised release by Sgt. Sean Murphy was to expose the "real Boston bomber, not someone fluffed and buffed for the cover of Rolling Stone magazine".  I have heard of tit-for-tat, but is the retaliation for 1 graphic photo on Rolling Stone magazine is the release of 2 gruesome photos in the Boston Magazine?
:-?

The immediate fallout was that Sgt. Sean Murphy has been ‘relieved of duty’, and will be subjected to ‘internal investigation’ by the Massachusetts State Police.  I think the angry police officer chose an inopportune moment to leak the photos - after all Sgt. Sean Murphy has taken an official document without authorisation and released it to the public - which is exactly what Edward Snowden did!

Anyway, here are the photos of Dzhokhar ‘Jahar-the-horrible’ Tsarnaev.  The middle fluffed shot is courtesy Rolling Stone.  The 2 accompanying snaps are courtesy Boston Magazine and of course Sgt. Sean Murphy!  Note the sinper's red laser marker on his face.

My mischievous half murmurs, ‘Just take a look at the comments in Boston Magazine article.  Half the comments have deviated as a flame war on ‘Radical Islam’ and ‘Guns’!’
