Today, 28th May 2014, is the monthly Amavasya (அமாவாசை ) or New Moon Day for the Tamil month of Vaikasi (வைகாசி). This Amavasya is a Sarva Amavasya (ஸர்வ-அமாவாசை), which means there is no separate Bhodanaya Amavasya occurring in May 2014.
