Cross My Heart not for Xmas Holidays

Whenever I urge a traveller from Europe or US to buy the latest Alex Cross novel, they refuse.  Considering that the Alex Cross series is 20 years old this year, it is quite an insult to James Patterson.  True enough, when I asked a traveller to buy the Alex Cross #21 novel Cross My Heart, he got me Private London instead.
Most of my friends shun Alex Cross novels because they find it too dark and disturbing.  I prefer to describe the novels as powerful, and riveting.  Cross My Heart is as good as any of the previous stories in the series.  From the start,  we experience the fear and suspense, heightened because Alex Cross and Bree are unaware of the dangerous villain stalking them.

There are problems with the book, but the characterisation of the villain and his truly atrocious plan to make life miserable for Alex Cross and family, makes some amends.
In my opinion, here are the problems with the book.
The storyline sags for pages together. The mundane activities of Alex Cross, Bree and Nana Mama undoes all the excitement of the villainous plotting.
James Patterson leaves us hanging in the end, which he even acknowledged with an Author’s Note at the end, which is a truly disappointing solution to the readers.
In conclusion, the latest half-story Cross My Heart is equally dark, disturbing as its predecessors, but not a recommended read for the holidays.

  2. Dear Sir, looks like you are talking about 3 different issues here, and I am not sure they are actually connected. I don't know whether Google Transliteration is the right tool to learn a language. For learning sanskrit I would suggest either learnsanskrit.org or easysanskrit.chinfo.org. Best wishes.
