Seeing the amount of searches still going on for Amavasya Tharpanam procedure, I guess people are actually hunting for the Makara Sankaranti Tharpanam or the Thai Masa Pirappu (தை மாச பிறப்பு) Tharpanam.
A quick consult with the old man enabled me to hash up the procedure for Makar Sankaranti Tharpanam which falls on the Pongal Day - tomorrow 14 January 2013.
As written about yesterday, I think it would be better to put out the Tharpanam procedure in Tamil in EPUB format too, so that people can download straight into their Smartphones and perform the Tharpanam without the hassle of paper printouts.
After all, isn’t this the 21st century?!?

So the ZIP file contains both the PDF and EPUB files. You can use one or the other as per your convenience. However, please note that the PDF file is optimized for paper printouts; on a Smartphone the fonts will be too tiny. The EPUB file is optimized for phone display; the letter will be too large on paper.
