OpenOffice 3.4 has been released

Apache OpenOffice (AOO) version 3.4.0 has been released.

This is the first release since OpenOffice became a project at the Apache Software Foundation since OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 from January 2011. Apache OpenOffice now starts up faster with a number of new features like -

support for documents using AES256 encryption;
the Pivot Table (earlier DataPilot) supports unlimited number of fields;
improvements & changes in CSV (Comma Separated Values) export option in Calc;
improved ODF 1.2 encryption; and
enhancements to the Impress and Draw programs.

The release notes for Apache OpenOffice 3.4 are available at
http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases/3.4.0.html
Please do read them to understand all the changes.

Apart from Apache OpenOffice, many software have new versions / updates.
Their current version numbers and download links (along with other software of interest) are listed at:
http://www.madmadrasi.net/p/latest-versions.html

By last count there are 29 total updates to software (including Apache OpenOffice) after the last post (on 03 April 2012) - yeah! I have been a little lazy in keeping the list updated.
:-)

In the 'latest versions' page, the coloured cells indicate software versions updated (with Light Turquoise indicating the latest and Light Yellow indicating a bit earlier).

All Software are (C) and/or (R) of respective owners.
