Why Kamaraj Plan was not my idea

Tonight when every Indian TV channel is going on about a suspected Kamaraj Plan and how they were the first to break out the news that second rung leaders are planning to quit the Government to work for the party, it is time to come clear on my part.

My blog is not the conscience keeper for the Indian National Congress or any other party - national or regional, but is more broad.  I try to write on issues that are of more basic in nature, which surpasses party affiliations.  My aim is to try and make the few readers of this blog think in different ways, innovative ways, which can help bring about changes in the polity, society and economy, in future.  Changes that are good for the citizens of India - not necessarily for those who hold power and would like to maintain the status quo.

While on the subject, I am not averse, on the contrary quite avid in promoting my views and issues which I have written about and turn out to be true in a matter of years, months or in this case, weeks.

Thus it was funny to see the news channels claim the credit for breaking out the story that the principal nation ruling party, the Indian National Congress is implementing a variation of the Kamaraj Plan of 1963.

On 6th of March, 2012, I was the first one to raise the issue of the Kamaraj Plan, in the post enumerating the effects of the 5 state elections, in the post Indian Super Tuesday is a bloodbath.

That post is also the reason why I quite clearly state that the Kamaraj Plan 2.0. as tom-tom-ed now by the media, was not my idea.

But if the media is out to term the present suspected, leaked plan for second rung ministers to return to party work as a Kamaraj Plan, then why shouldn’t I try to jump in and take credit for the first one to raise the issue of the Kamaraj Plan?

In my personal blue book, it scores as a hit!
