Clinton 'trimming the sails'?

On 28th Jan Hillary Clinton ruled out a second term as Secretary of State and was even doubtful of completing the full term. Hmmm ... Is she planning a run for 2016?

Personally, I thought, she, rather than Barrack Obama will make a good president.  In my view the democrats made a 'historic blunder' by not making a Clinton-Obama ticket - The Clinton experience backed by Obama's rhetoric.  And 8 years down the line, an Obama-X ticket ensuing a virtual 12-16 years lock on the White House.  The danger was that it might have created a 'Clinton' legacy, overshadowing the 'Kennedy' legacy - but would that be bad?

The wise men decided otherwise, and now here is a CNN opinion poll reporting that 52% Americans don't approve 2nd term for BO. (To be fair, the poll suggests an anti-incumbency factor – with only 34% saying the present congressmen deserve to be re-elected).  AFA Clinton is concerned was the earlier fiasco with Ted Kennedy's seat playing on her mind?

The independents have started moving away from BO, the left is disgruntled and the democratic centre is leaderless, with the GOP baying for blood.  There are no 'big' second rung leaders visible in the Dem party, unlike Jindal, Steele, Cantor and Palin herself of the GOP.  By 2012, I think that democrats would be looking for a savior and perhaps this is a precursor?  Even if not, by 2016 Hillary Clinton would still be good enough for a grand run.
