CAT 2013 results: 8 score 100 percentile and ten score 99.9

8 candidates who took the Common Admission Test (CAT) for the  Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in 2013 have scored 100 percentile. The results were declared  today. All the eight are male candidates!

Of the top 18, there is a lone woman candidate who secured 99.9 percentile.  In contrast CAT 2012 saw 10 students scoring 100 percentile and four girls scored 99.99 percentile.

Early reports say that out of the eight CAT 2013 toppers, 6 have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and the remaining two have a master’s degree in the same.  Out of the 8 toppers, three have an experience of working (between 2 to 4 years) in the information technology, banking and automobile industry.

This year, maximum toppers for CAT are from Andhra Pradesh (4), while Mumbai has 3 and Delhi squares up with 1.

Following the CAT scores, the final selection is to be based on the performance in the Written Ability Test (WAT), Personal Interview (PI) and Group Discussion (GD).  Other factors including past academic records, work experience, gender and stream of graduation is also taken into account by IIMs.
