The fever jumped ‘species’ at my home

Yup.  It’s true.  Virus can jump species, just like that.  As I’d posted earlier in the week, I fell ill due to a seasonal virus infection.  To my horror of horrors and exactly as I’d worried, the virus infection spread and jumped the species.

I went from me to my mother.

I mean, aren’t ‘mothers’ a different species?  We have seen them take care of their sick children – and do we hear of a mother falling ill to a child’s illness?

We’ve mothers taking care of children inflicted
  • with Polio;
  • with Jaundice;
  • with mental dysfunction; and
  • even HIV+ kids;
And never do you hear of a mom getting the infection from her offspring – which does make them a separate species, doesn’t it?

So when my mom caught on the run-of-the-mill virus giving cold and fever from me, it certainly proved that this virus can jump species, doesn’t it?

BTW, yeah, I live with my mom or rather my mom lives with me – and if it makes me a mama’s boy, so what?
